DJ Connell’s new book
Posted in Blog, events, Press Releases on 25. Sep, 2011
Despite decades of globe-trotting, DJ Connell still calls New Zealand home. She is back in her hometown of Hamilton visiting family and friends and made time to promote her latest book “Sherry Cracker Gets Normal” at local boutique bookstore Poppies Hamilton in Casabella Lane. A massive 50 people crammed intoPoppies to meet the fabulous Dianne (DJ) Connell and hear her talk about her writing process, insights into where her crazy characters come from, and about how her first comic novel “Julian Corkell is a Filthy Liar” is currently being adapted into a feature film.
It truly felt like spring was in the air being out in the early evening in such a gorgeous setting, glass of wine in hand, discussing reading with like minded people and listening to such an engaging speaker as DJ Connell who you can’t help but like. I found myself distracted for quite some time in the recipe book section (What a selection they have!) and felt rather euphoric being surrounded by such a variety of reading matter. I was in my kind of heaven. Meeting an author – well that was just icing on the cake!
