Introducing Kate Griffiths

At Nourish we love to promote wonderful homegrown talent and decided that our front cover would be a brilliant vehicle for emerging photographers to showcase to over 20 000 people.  So using the power of facebook we put out the call for anyone who wanted to submit a photo for our summer issue.  The brief was a shot of wonderful in season produce and we were blown away by this shot by Kate Griffiths.  “Best cover yet” has been said by more than one person and it’s not even out yet.

Kate, a mother of 3 from Porirua has been interested in photography since she was 17.  This year she decided to pursue that passion and enrolled at in ‘The Photo School’ in Raumati Beach on the Kapiti Coast (www.photoschool.co.nz) studying full time for a certificate in practical photography.  Kate says “this year has changed my life and my outlook. I
have found me, a creative outlet, a career I’m passionate about and I’m very lucky that doing this at 27 years of age that I have the maturity to walk straight into the industry knowing I can do this!”
